Traffic, parking disruptions expected during April 4-6 events
Multiple events scheduled for April 4-6 will bring a large number of visitors to campus and disrupt parking and traffic patterns.
Friday, April 4, campus hosts the largest Spring Preview Day in ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ history. That day, students with an active commuter parking permit can park in any commuter zone or at Zacharias Village as the Fresh Food Co., greenhouse and Newell-Grissom parking lots will be reserved for Preview Day attendees.
Also on Friday, the College of Veterinary Medicine hosts its open house, and the Department of Poultry Science welcomes participants for the final day of the USPOULTRY Foundation Ted Cameron National Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest.
Some of the top diving dogs in the country come to ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ on Saturday, April 5, for the American Kennel Club Diving Dogs Premier Cup Competition in the Junction. The competition, which airs nationally on ESPN, begins at noon and is free to the public. Beginning Thursday, April 3, parking on the southeast end of Davis Wade Stadium will be blocked off for food trucks and participants.
The ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ Diamond Dawgs return to Dudy Noble Field at Polk-DeMent Stadium this weekend for a three-game SEC series against South Carolina. Friday’s first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday set for 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. starts, respectively.

Friday afternoon, the T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability presents In Bloom: The 4th Annual Express Yourself! Art Auction at the center from 3-6 p.m. The event features original art and a live painting by ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ student Kendrell Daniels.
The ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ Horticulture Club will hold its annual spring plant sale Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Dorman Hall Greenhouses.
Saturday, Sigma Chi hosts Derby Days, its annual philanthropic dance competition, at 9 a.m. in the ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ Amphitheater. Admission is $10 and can be paid at the entrance.
ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ’s Department of Kinesiology also kicks off the StarkVegas Fútbol Jamboree, a 3v3 soccer tournament, at 9 a.m. on the fields next to Fresh Food Co. Admission is free.

In addition to game two of the series against South Carolina, ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ’s nationally ranked men’s tennis squad challenges Auburn at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and the Bulldogs’ reigning SEC champion soccer team welcomes Jackson State for a 5 p.m. exhibition match.
Prior to Sunday’s series finale at Dudy Noble Field, the ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ dance and cheer teams will showcase their nationals routines in the Newell-Grissom Building, and women’s tennis faces Texas. Both events begin at 11 a.m.
ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ’s International Fiesta, originally scheduled for Saturday, will now take place Saturday, April 12, from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. on the Drill Field.
