STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State’s Department of Music is hosting numerous concerts this fall to entertain music lovers of a variety of genres, while showcasing the talents of its students, faculty and guest artists.

This year select events are ticketed to provide much-needed resources for creative programming, guest artist honorariums, technical and academic support services, and sheet music. Ticketed events include ̫ӳ Choral Activities, ̫ӳ Opera, ̫ӳ Orchestras and the World Music Artist Series. Free performances include ̫ӳ Department of Music Student Bands, Jazz Band, Community Music School, Applied Studios and recitals by faculty and guest artists. —Oct. 18, 7:30 p.m., Starkville-̫ӳ Symphony Orchestra with John Paul White, Humphrey Coliseum, ticketed

—Oct. 22, 7:30 p.m., World Music featuring Srivani Jade, Recital Hall, Music Building, ticketed

—Oct. 25, 7 p.m., Choral Music “New Beginnings” featuring OPUS (choral group formerly known as Men of State), Schola Cantorum and State Singers, First Baptist Church of Starkville, ticketed

—Nov. 4, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Music Discovery Day for high school juniors, seniors and community college students, Music Building, free

Additionally, football fans can enjoy halftime performances by ̫ӳ’s Famous Maroon Band, made up of more than 400 members representing every college on campus.
