̫ӳ education professor among top 2% of cited scientists worldwide

STARKVILLE, Miss.—An accomplished Mississippi State professor is among the top-cited scientists globally in the field of education.
Jianzhong Xu of the Department of Counseling, Higher Education Leadership, Educational Psychology, and Foundations is listed in ’s latest database of most-cited scientists in the world. He is among the top 0.65% with self-citations and the top 1.26% without self-citations in education for his career span.
Xu has gained national and international scholarly recognition with 133 peer-reviewed publications in print and more than 80 paper presentations. Additionally, he has completed ad-hoc reviews for over 50 journals and has grants totaling approximately $1 million. Xu’s research is primarily focused on homework outcomes, and he is ranked as the top researcher in the world on this topic by citation databases Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection.

Xu has a bachelor’s degree in foundations of education from East China Normal University. He also holds two master’s degrees and a doctoral degree in curriculum and teaching from Columbia University.
