ORED hosting March 21 Symposium on Public Health and Health Sciences Research

ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ’s Office of Research and Economic Development will host a Symposium on Public Health and Health Sciences Research on March 21 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. in Ballroom M of the Colvard Student Union.

ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ is poised to be a major contributor to important research and outreach priorities among Public Health and Health Sciences funders. Please join ORED, a panel of distinguished guests, and our ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ faculty research colleagues, for a discussion about research in Public Health and Health Sciences. The goals of the event are 1) to be a catalyst for future conversations around the current issues and challenges around several sub-topics central to "health," and 2) to coalesce interest among ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ stakeholders and identify institutional capacities to pursue funding in these areas.

-Health Policy (as related to rural health, marginalized/underrepresented populations, and health equity)  

-One Health (as a whole and as the fundamental science opportunities contained within that scope)  

-Health Workforce (future areas of opportunity and growth/training demands and infrastructure needs)  

-Mental Health (including behavioral health and substance abuse topics - across all age groups)  

-The Future of Health (opportunities in biotechnology, digital health, risk mitigation and public safety, other fundamental science topics)
