STARKVILLE, Miss.—Beginning Sept. 16, Mississippi State’s Community Music School will offer a new series of 10 evening classes for adults interested in learning how to make music and play the piano at a relaxed pace.

The one-hour Musical Moments Piano 1 sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be taught by Jackie Edwards-Henry, professor of piano and coordinator of group piano in ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ’s Department of Music.

Only 10 spaces are available and will be filled on a first-come, first-reserved basis. Cost for the program is $225, which includes the method book.

Adult beginners are defined as those who are 25 or older and have little to no prior experience with piano.

Classes conclude on Nov. 25. All sessions will take place in the Piano Lab of Building C at the music department complex on Morrill Road.

Part of ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ’s nationally accredited Department of Music, the Community Music School is an outreach program that provides beginner, intermediate and advanced-level musicians with high quality private instruction in piano, guitar, voice, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings, conducting, and music composition.
