Astronaut Jerry Ross to speak, present ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ's first Astronaut Scholarship Wednesday
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is recognizing ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ's first Astronaut Scholarship recipient Phong C. Ly of Brandon with a special presentation Wednesday [Sept. 19] from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Mitchell Memorial Library's third-floor John Grisham Room.
In addition to presenting Ly with the $10,000 merit-based award, Astronaut Jerry Ross will speak about his experience with seven space shuttle missions. ÌÒÌ«ÀÉÓ³Ïñ alumnus Ray Gildea also will be in attendance.
Sophomores and juniors interested in applying for the Astronaut Scholarship, as well as faculty interested in mentoring students who pursue research and internships, are encouraged to attend.
