STARKVILLE, Miss.—Stephen Foshee of Starkville begins a new position this month with the ̫ӳ Foundation as assistant athletic director for development.
In his new role, Foshee will serve as a liaison between the Bulldog Club and the ̫ӳ Foundation as he works to secure major gifts for both organizations on behalf of ̫ӳ. He replaces Michelle McBride, who is now at the University of Pittsburgh.
Foshee joins the ̫ӳ Foundation from the university’s Bulldog Club, where he has served in athletic fundraising since 2008. He began his work with ̫ӳ as a graduate assistant, and he then became development coordinator. Since mid-2015, he has been assistant director.
“We welcome Stephen as a member of the ̫ӳ Foundation team and believe the move will be a seamless transition for him because of his previous experience in fundraising at Mississippi State,” said Jack McCarty, the university’s executive director of development. “Stephen’s knowledge will be a great asset for our organization and for alumni and friends of the institution, some of whom may have already formed strong connections with him.”
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Foshee is a graduate of Mississippi State, earning an MBA and a master’s in sports administration, both in 2011. He earlier earned a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2006 from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
“In my time with Mississippi State, I’ve developed great pride in the association between the ̫ӳ Foundation and the Bulldog Club, and I am excited to become more involved with major gift fundraising at the university,” said Foshee.
Foshee’s resume also includes intern experience with both the Boston Red Sox and the Green Bay Packers organizations.
Foshee’s office is located in the Bryan Athletic Administration Building, and he can be reached at (662) 325-0965 or sfoshee@foundation.msstate.edu.
